Lee Crew
graduated from Cheltenham & Gloucester College
of Higher Education in 1991 where he studied Fine
Art. He works mainly with acrylic on canvas and
screen printing.
Lee Crew uses the broader landscape
as his starting point, inspired by a particular
location, the season or a particular light or
feeling of a place.
He has developed his own language
of marks and symbols. Echoes of rock formations,
leaves, water or stones lie alongside man made
and urban structures such as buildings, paths
and steps. Lee Crew builds up each image until
he achieves the desired effect. Colour, balance
and dynamic tension are the architectural structures
of his abstract ideas.
Lee Crew works mainly to commission,
responding to briefs quickly and fluently. He
has work in many private and corporate collections
including BT, John Lewis and Regus.
