Born in 1971
in Oxford, Hetty Haxworth studied at the Glasgow
School of Art and now makes her work at The Glasgow
Print Studio. She exhibits regularly throughout
the UK and has shown her work as far a field as
Denmark, Brussels and California.
Hetty's abstract screenprints
and oil paintings are based on organic forms -
the exploration of the lines and textures on rock
and stone. Each of these new prints is produced
through the layering of stencils and colour, starting
with the darkest layer and gradually moving through
several tones to the lightest hue. By
simplifying the composition, with colour as the
principle element, Hetty
creates a harmonious and rhythmic quality within
each work.
