Helen Lindon lives and works from
her home in North London. After a career in design
and art direction, Helen returned to Art School
where she gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. After
graduating, she was invited by The Contemporary
Art Society to exhibit at their selected Art Futures
Show and has since exhibited regularly in London.
She was a finalist in the Singer and Friedlander
Sunday Times watercolour competition.
'My work is usually made over
a considerable length of time as I forge a relationship
with each painting. I use the period of time between
each stage of making to allow the paint and glazes
to dry and also to enable my consideration of
what the work demands from me. In this way my
relationship with the painting and the painting
itself is slowly built up in layers.'
Within the taut structure of Helen's
work, a delicate equilibrium is achieved. 'Each
work is a journey of discovery and experimentation
which often takes me to a resolution that I had
not expected'.
