| Born
in Glasgow in 1936, Archibald McIntosh is one
of the most original, professional painters working
in Scotland today. McIntosh was educated at Glasgow
School of Art from 1953-1957, exhibiting worldwide
with frequent shows in London, New York and Berlin.
His canvases possess an unusual and child-like
quality that have enduring appeal. He successfully
creates a parallel world of distorted perspectives
and fanciful motifs, which
continue to fascinate and entertain the viewer.
A member of the Royal Glasgow
Institute and The Royal Scottish Society of Painters
in Watercolours, McIntosh has work in public and
private collections in Britain, USA, France, Germany,
Italy, Canada and Brazil. These include; The Scottish
Arts Council, Glasgow Art Gallery, The Edinburgh
Academy, Royal Bank of Scotland, Peter Townsend,
Griff Rhys Jones and Rolls Royce.
