Ian Wilkinson was born in
Lancashire 1962 where he studied at Burnley
College before completing a degree in fine
art at North Staffordshire Polytechnic in
1983. He now lives in Suffolk and is a co-founder
of the Limberhurst Press in Cambridgeshire.
Wilkinson's inspiration
comes from many different areas and aspects
of his life. Working in various media including
oil on canvas, silkscreen and etching, he
often combines processes and techniques
resulting in highly individual and tactile
prints and paintings. Continuous experimentation
with new materials constitutes a strong
part of his work, giving it its own unique
and constantly evolving identity.
Wilkinson exhibits regularly
in galleries up and down the country as
well as working on large scale commissions.
He has work in private collections in England,
Germany, U.S.A., Belgium, France, Eire,
Japan, Greece and New Zealand.
Commissions include;
Autotype International, The Royal Windsor
Hotel - Brussels, Crowne Plaza Hotel - Marlow,
British Telecom and Cambridge Antibody Technology.
